"I have worked with my hands for as long as I can remember. When I was small, I played with grasshoppers, caterpillars, and in the mud. My family went camping a lot, so I caught trout and played in babbling streams and looked under a lot of rocks. Sometimes we went to the ocean, where I picked up every broken sand dollar I could find. I am known for doing classic southwestern jewelry with turquoise and silver, but I am branching out into plique a jour (think of a little stained glass window you can wear), sea creatures, chased silver, raised hollow ware, and pressed hearts and shells made on a 20 ton hydraulic press. I am having fun with these pieces, and have been taking jewelry classes so my execution is much tighter and cleaner. I feel like I am finally getting to create the kind of jewelry I was meant to.
